"Intersections Between Japanese Popular Culture and Fandom"

"A free anime panel discussion Border Crossings: Intersections Between Japanese Popular Culture and Fandom will be held next week, Wednesday 22nd July from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

This will be a most insightful event, not only for fans of Japanese anime, but also for anyone interested in Japanese culture or Japan generally. Join panelists Mr Roland Kelts, Professor Susan Napier and Ms Carolyn Stevens for a fascinating discussion on the driving forces behind the popularity of anime and manga from the various perspectives of consumption, distribution and scholarly analysis, addressing a number of related issues."
