(Box Hill) Japan Festival 2009

"One of the biggest Japan-related events in Australia, the Japan Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, with wa (harmony) as its central theme.

The 2009 Festival will present various aspects of Japan through performances (Taiko Drums, Japanese Dances, Kendo, Karate, Iaido, Shakuhachi, Tsugarujamisen, Kimono Contest), displays (Shinkansen Model Rail, Ikebana, Bonsai), demonstrations (Tea Ceremony, Go, Origami), stalls (Sushi, Takoyaki, Yakitori, Japanese Cakes, Japanese Toys, Books, Kimono) and lots more."

Date: Sunday, 17th May 2009, 10am to 5pm
Venue: Box Hill Town Hall and TAFE, 1000 - 1022 Whitehorse Rd
Entry fee: $5.00, with children and seniors free
